Daron L. Wyatt is an experienced professional who is skilled in all aspects of investigations. Daron specializes in cold case homicide investigations, as well as complex criminal and civil investigations, including criminal defense. He is a POST-certified background investigator and conducts public safety background investigations for multiple police and fire agencies. As a retired police sergeant with more than 33 years of law enforcement experience, Daron has worked a number of investigative assignments including Crimes Against Persons, Gangs, Vice, Narcotics, and three tours in Homicide. Daron supervised the Family Protection Detail at the Orange County Family Justice Center, and was a Sergeant assigned to the Anaheim Police Department’s Major Incident Review Team (MIRT), responsible for administrative investigations into Officer Involved Shootings, In-Custody Deaths, and major uses of force by police personnel.
Daron has received numerous awards for his investigative work, including the Placentia Police Department’s Meritorious Service Award, the American Legion’s Officer of the Year Award for Orange County and the Southern California Region, the Randall Gaston Community Service Award (x2), Crime Survivors Above and Beyond Award, and Anaheim Police Department Detective of the Year Award (x2). Daron served as the Lead Investigator on the Orange County Homeless Homicides Investigative Task Force responsible for the investigation into Orange County’s first serial murder series in more than 25 years. Daron’s cases have been featured on more than two dozen tru-crime television shows including Dateline, True Crime with Aphrodite Jones, Fatal Attraction, Snapped, Real Murders of Orange County, In Ice Cold Blood, Murder By Numbers, Family Secrets, Criminal Confessions, Blood Relatives, The Price of Duty, and more.

Daron also serves as a Type 1 Public Information Officer on California Interagency Incident Management Team 2. He has served on several historic wildfires including the Mendocino Complex, Camp Fire, Delta Fire, River Complex, and Dixie Fire.
